About Me

Middle school librarian by day, golf enthusiast by every other hour of daylight.

So who are you?

I'm the Golfing Librarian. By day I'm a middle school library and makerspace coordinator, and I've been working in libraries for more than fifteen years. By every other hour of daylight, I'm probably thinking about golf.

Have you always been a librarian?

Not even close. I studied business and marketing at FIT in New York City and spent years loving fashion and product development(I can't wait to start creating the golfing librarian merch). Then I had two kids and made them my whole focus, which was a great gift. Libraries came later, when I needed a job that would still allow me to be a very involved parent, and once I got there, it made complete sense. I've always loved researching, reading, and finding the thing everyone swears can't be found.

How does a librarian end up obsessed with golf?

The same way I end up obsessed with anything. I research it to the ends of the earth. Golf has become my new yoga, and my new favorite puzzle. My kids are all grown up now, both off building their own lives. I felt a bit lost when they left the house. Golf gave me a new challenge and a way to spend the time left over in my days in their absence.

Did you always play?

No. I resisted for years. My partner got seriously into the game first and kept at me until I tried it. Now it's something we share, and it's given my dad and me something to talk about too. That's the part I love most. Golf bridges generation gaps. You don't have to talk about the hard stuff. You can just talk about your swing, and it makes the hard stuff easier to handle (sometimes).

Why write about it?

Because I love to write, and golf is full of human stories. The friendships, the trips, the small victories, the humbling days. It's a pretty good stand-in for life.

Who is this for?

Women who play, couples who play, and everyone else in between. I'm also almost always on a budget, and I want people to know this game can be played well without spending a fortune. You just have to dig a little harder for the good stuff. I'll do the digging.

Are you any good?

Not particularly, and I'll say that freely. But I keep trying, which is the whole point. The one putt from fifteen feet. The drive that actually goes down the middle. Those little wins are worth showing up for. I will start professional lessons soon, and I will share that experience with you. The good and the bad!

What won't I find here?

Negativity, politics, or drama. Just friends, family, golf, and the journey.

So come along! I hope we discover some great things together, and that what I find helps both your game and your life too.

A little behind-the-scenes note, since I'm a librarian and transparency feels important to me. I'm brand new at this blogging thing. I've basically built this website on my own, and I'm learning a lot along the way. I'm not the most tech-savvy person, but I keep trying, and that feels pretty on-brand for a golf blog.

One more thing I want to be upfront about: I won't sell you anything or promote anything I haven't actually used or don't have direct, firsthand knowledge of, good or bad. If I mention something, it's because I've tried it myself and can speak to whether it actually works. Case in point: my partner's very high-priced putter, which has genuinely dropped his average score by ten points. I'll tell you that because I've watched it happen, not because anyone paid me to say it.
